crafting magazines....

Why do we need a crafting magazine to learn how to craft the most mundane or basic stuff. Too many of the new recipes are locked behind finding magazines to teach you how to duct tape magazines to your arms, etc... This is compounded by the fact that the book/magazine loot pool is so diluted with junk now. How are we supposed to make a wilderness character if every recipe is locked behind magazines that we have to find.

Because there is no possible way any human could figure out how to make a machete without a manual.
There's no way you could logically deduce that you could take flat iron scrap, sharpen an edge and grind down one end into a size that's easily handled and wrap it in leather or wood. Then drill out holes in this "handle" and affix the wood, if you chose to use it, in place with screws. That's preposterous.

I seriously just found a schematic to teach me how to turn a toothbrush into a shiv..... and a different one to teach me how to wrap barbed wire around a weapon.... I can't wait for them to adjust this. I'm playing with literature set to abundant on my new playthrough to counteract all of the convoluted and diluted mess that is literature/crafting in B42

Actually no need to wait ill tell you:
Since spear fishing is no more you need a fishing rod, but we have a problem! Loot pool is full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless junk and its near to impossible find anything usefull even on abundant level of loot. So I guess we have to be self sustainable and make fishing rod ourselves. First things first you need a base for fishing rod, and your base is wooden rod, to make it you need level 1 carving, to get level 1 carving you need to chop down entire forest because you need to get this specific type of stick given you by destiny or god or TIS themselves to carve somewhere around millions of stakes or spears. After that you need twine and hook, to make hook in real life you can grind a sealing thing on aluminium cans, in zomboid you need to kill something and crash its bones then carve it in hook which requires level 5 carving. Idk about twine, probably another 5 levels in twinemaking skill and skill journals. After all that, on your 7 year of survival you can leave Rosewood with your fishing rod. You cant actually, gas station have no gas and every car in city is empty by gas drinking gnomes.

To be fair. I would not have known how to make the handle if not told. Probably could figure it out eventually, but I wouldn't have thought screws right away for sure.

To be fair. I would not have known how to make the handle if not told. Probably could figure it out eventually, but I wouldn't have thought screws right away for sure.

You can also just wrap a bunch of tape or string around it.

My point is easy to grasps so not sure why your having issue. Also people tend to throw insults at americans every chance they get regardless if warranted or not. Just goes to show how low others are to need to throw insults.
