Build 42 towing issues?
I found a livestock trailer and some chickens, I loaded them into the trailer, its well under the weight limit, I tried towing it with a heavy duty truck I had, but it wasnt moving at all. I grabbed a different car, a sports model, and its the same issue. I thought since the sports car had more engine power itd be able to tow it better, but its still not moving. Is it bugged or is it best to use a car in the best possible condition? Cause then my truck should have been able to move it since it had an overall condition of above 60%.

What about the trailer itself? What's its condition?
I am also in trouble removing crash cars from road. They seems super heavy and barely moves like a snail.
I had the same issue - fixed it by inflating the tires on my car and the trailer.
I was able to tow multiple animal and storage trailers no problem even though they were in fairly terrible condition with tyres being 8% or so. (You can't change them though o_O it says install brakes first. There are no brakes on a trailer???) I just found that heavy duty pickup trucks are best in tow speed.

However, last night, I found a second car(a taxi) which was at overall 83% or something. Yay, great find, yeah? Nope. My 400 hp pickup thinks it can only tow that at 10-15 kms speed, stopping and slowing down every 30-50 metres like I was trying to drive over bushes or something even though it can do 50 with an animal trailer attached containing a bull and a cow. :|

Maybe they will fix it?

near perfect as well. one wheel is bit on the bad side but that shouldnt affect the whole speed of the trailer

ill try that. i know irl tire pressure does effect cars. so maybe thats a thing in zomboid. howd you inflate them?

I hope they do cause i really dont want to haul all these chickens to my base by foot
use a tire pump
In 41 the towing code was pretty rough as well. As said above, tire inflation affects it, but also car type and horsepower. The big problem with it is that the performance doesn't match, and the code has issues with calculating the mass while accelerating and upshifting, which leads to speed loss when it shouldn't. For 41 there was a mod that fixed it, vehicles go BRRR, but I am not sure if it has been updated for 42 yet.
Either way, the code needs a revision in vanilla.

Thank you. In 41 i never got to using cars, so i wanted to try it out in 42 and since they added animals i wanted to see if it would work. Ill try inflating the tires and maybe with the sports car i have (its got 500 engine power) so hopefully that works. Otherwise I guess ill have to carry each chicken by hand till they (hopefully sooner rather than later) fix it
