How do you even make storage crates in Build 42?

I attempted to build a crate like build 41, but the carpentry drop down option isn't there anymore. Do I have to make like a crafting bench or something to enable storage building?

you got a crafting and build menu on the left side now. shelfs, water collectors and so on are now under the build menu

In v42 u can take storage crates without chance to broke them

You have to make sure the crates are empty and you can only pickup the top crate on the pile (if they are stacked). You use the "pick up" icon on the top left of your screen (looks like a bedside table) and select the crate. If there is something else on the tile like a radio on top of the crate, you might have to press 'R' to cycle between the different items on the tile to select the correct one you want to pick up.
