cant disassemble furniture

im running really basic mods, none of which are related to furniture. the option to disassemble something doesnt appear when i right click an object that is able to be disassembled (i know some things cant, but a dresser with a mirror and a bed can). i have a screwdriver, regular hammer, and a saw.

Would really appreciate any help as im very interested in carpentry and have only seen disassembling being the only way to level it.

You actually don't get any experience anymore through disassembly, but you can change that through sandbox. There are now things that you can craft instead to reliably level all the way up, to actually practice your crafting.

Not sure what's preventing disassembly, though.

Try removing the mod? Not related to furniture doesn't mean it can't mess up the right click menu.
