When it's ready? It's project zomboid so probably 2025 if we're lucky 2026 if we aren't

From what I heard 41 was unstable for 6 months

It will be in active development for quite some time before they release it to the stable version. It needs to be polished before doing that.
I think 5-10 months seems likely considering past builds and what they still want to implement for b42.

There's alot of new buildings in the rural areas where rain and weather affects go threw the roof. They need to do a over pass on all the buildings and make sure they are coded or built right.

Did they manage to get all the content in? I was of the understanding that the team still needs to implement large portions of 42 before they even really get to work on stability

No there is still quite a bit they want to add.
We're about five months later and it's still unstable, so there's that...
