How to level Metalworking in b42

I genuinely have no clue how to level it, i have a primitive furnace and forge and ive made a couple metal chunks yet ive got no xp for any of them. I cant craft anything else because i need to be a higher level to. i spent so long building the forge and furnace and i cant do anything with them

Forgot to mention, you can make an stone anvil relatively easy.

find a magazine that allows you to make either spoons on knives. That's the only way i was able to.

you are probably missing a recipe book. i have blacksmith knowledge so i know some of the recipes already.

turn iron chunks into iron bar quarters

turn iron bar quarters into 2 spoons for metalworking xp.

shouldn't require any levels in metalworking

my question, is there a way to find clay besides foraging? i assume you need a kiln to make a crucible to then smelt stuff

Not that i've found. Did a long teleport around search to see if "bag of clay" was a spawnable item and it dosen't appear to be. There are not places that i have found yet to mine it. Best chances are foraging, during the rain, with forage set to stones.

It is in loot table for "art store" whatever it means. The team member mentioned it can be a school.

Easy to do : find some welding torch and stop at each car to dismount crashed cars on you way beetween 2 towns with books boosts i level up 6 times from westpoint to muldrow :)

Dismantling wrecks gives Welding XP now, not Metalworking XP

clay is supposed to be dug out of deposits along the rivers but it's not in this build yet so you can only get it by foraging

Trashing third genny manual already, but not a single mason chisel found.
It seems it can spawn in garage boxes, not warehouses.

it is absurd that you need a magazine to forge a spoon, I don't know if this is because of exploration encouragement or any other reason but what I know for sure is that it is not fun
