primitive axe workbench ???
What is the point of a primitive axe if you need a workbench to create it?? homemade primitive tools are primitive because they are made from improvised means. What the hell is a workbench for?

I'm currently facing the same problem. I was collecting sticks and stones only to realize that I need lv 1 and a workbench for this axe.

Do we have to go looting to find an ax now? I wanted to live outdoors a bit and build a shelter and so on, but that's not possible without an axe now. Or am I missing something?

This confused me today. The workbench is just a flat surface... A table works fine.

I started a crafting area in a nice open garage I found with good storage. Went to build some basic weapons and hit the "Workbench" requirement. Took me awhile to figure out all I needed was a table, walked across the street and brought me back a dining room table and everything was great.

Ohhh okay, that's really confusing. So all i need is a table?
Okay then I'll try again but it still confuses me that I need maintenance lv 1 to make this axe. How do I level this without tools? Let’s assume you just want to live outdoors in the woods.
So I guess I'll still have to go looking for tools in garages, right?

did you find an axe ? I was looting so many places and haven´t found any yet. Leveling up maintenance takes ages as well. Even the hardware store doesn't have an axe :D

I did, in the fire station in Rosewood, so try fire stations.

Big rocks you find in nature count as a work surface/workbench, use these.

Flat surface fans when I show them the floor.

I think it's possible to make a workbench out of a log.
However, it's strange that you would need a stand to make a stone axe.
Any crate can be used as workbench.
