B42? More Like B-Grind!
Okay, I know settings can be modified, that’s not what this post is about.

However, it seems like the devs in their goal to prevent multiplayer people from dismantling everything made it worse for everyone else.

-Maintainance? Crowbar gives little exp to force players to use pure weapons. Seems like multiple things were nerfed for one of the hardest things to grind. Case in point, B41. On CDDA challenge I killed over 1500 zombies with fast learner and handy trait. The result? Level 5. That’s NOT fast.
-TV show? Base settings capped at 3, meaning most tapes easily become useless especially with skill books past certain point.
-Muscle Strain forces players to fight less, thus get less experience. No changes were made to experience needed or gained.
-Getting all the way to advanced smith is a multi step process. Knapping -> Pottery -> Masonry, so that you can make it from scratch.
-MASSIVE loot nerfs. It’s comparable to extremely rare lopt settings, similar to CDDA.
-Adding multiple skillbooks, but lowering amount gained thus diluting good books you may need.
-Dismantling no longer gives experience.

Do I need to go on?

Anyway, I hope those things are adressed in the future, because I would rather play cdda without zombie respawn on b41 than the test version.

So much for reading Comprehension. This isn't about custom sandbox, it’s about premade difficulties like Apocalypse and Survivor.

Yeah. I get that.

They're probably grinning in the dark of their secret base while reading this and scheming with some evil entity, such as a household cat.

Builder is almost harder. There's less of all loot, your needs (hunger, thirst, etc decay faster) your clothes deteriorate faster, and there less zombies. That last part sounds good until you realize that zombies are a resource of sorts.

Not to mention requiring maintenance 1 make even primitive weapons. Feels silly.

With regards to loot rarity, rare actually means rare now unlike in B41 where rare was normal and normal was abundant. Play survivor if apocalypse is too hard, otherwise use custom sandbox.

Crowbar maintainance gains nerfed to the ground? Splendid.

From what I understand it DOES still get maintenance at least. Amount of XP seems to be a percentage of the total durability? So, crowbars being eternal gods give next to nothing when maint procs.

I got a plan though. Need to test it, I'll post a thread if things work out.

The leveling has always taken ages to get anywhere with, have you ever seen someone max out nimble? No, because it takes 300 hours.

In regards to dismantling, it's good they got rid of XP gains, if you've ever been on a server thats more than a few days old, then all the houses are ransacked, and alot of containers get dismantled, though I don't think it really matters since now theres no loot in them anyway XD.

This is the definition of insanity. The solution is right there in front of you but you pretend you're helpless.

Guess what? The default settings are difficult. Good thing we can change them to whatever we want.
"B...B...but... I won't feel like a leet pro gamer if I change the settings. I'M LEET AND PRO! They need to change it, not me."

Ok...ok... take your meds and go to bed/

Agreed. The default settings should be good. However, if it ruffles peoples feathers that much, they need to remember no one is forcing them to play that way. In fact the opposite is true. TIS has gone out of their way to make the experience extremely customizable. However, the complaints should be to allow us to change the things that we don't like. The OP's comment on it taking so long to get to advanced smithing is an example of this...yeah that's gonna be a real slog. Personally, I'm okay with that. Another concern they brought up, which I agree with is the dilution of the loot pool with all the "crap" that we need for crafting. This is particularly true with skill books.

Man this is about to piss alot of people off, but I think they added too much new lootable items. I mean, variety is the spice of life, but too many of the new things only have a use in 1-2 recipes. Some consolidation is in order, or more options to process some mats into others. For instance, why can't I make spears out of trees? I don't mean directly, I mean at all. There is no processing chain that allows me to cut down an entire tree and process the logs into items that will allow me to make a spear. I HAVE to find "long sticks" or "saplings". Saplings as far as I know are ONLY for turning into long sticks, so...why do we have them?

Anyway I'm going off on a tangent...

For everything else though, TIS gave us the ability to change it if we don't like it. I WISH more developers did that.

Nope, there is a ton of junk item.
Just check out the dozen or so different prescriped glasses. I know that it is so in the Real World, but unless we are going to add the traits based on those, as in different kind of sight issues require different kind of glasses. It is a complete waste. (Not to mention you already have to place them on the corpse so they disappear and not litter the ground:P)
There are a lot of items that are completely useless yet about half a dozen or more differnt kinds exist of them.
I'm already destroying like half the stuff i find in a place. Because it likely will help with performance and save game size:D

Btw...Loot the post if you want some magazines. skill books and wine, and a satellite dish. (NOT JOKING)
If you go inside the warehouse area, start looking through mail bags, and parcels, you can find very surprising stuff. Like a whole bbq oven...or a satellite dish.
Though i just looted an IV stand and a gurney from an ambulance:D Placed them in the trauma bag with 2 bandages and a painkiller and off it goes in the trunk. And now waiting for the chopper to pass:P
