How to pack improvised tent kit?

I made an improvised tent kit and it weighs 8. The description says it needs to be packed to be attached to a backpack and I see in the crafting menu that you can unpack a packed tent kit. I don't see how to pack the improvised tent kit as the crafting menu doesn't have it listed in the requirements to pack tents. Any help here?

I'm with the same issue, dude. I tried placing it then picking it up, but I guess it's the same issue with making rain collectors. You can only craft those with the garbage bags if you have a tarp (somehow it unlocks both options for crafting). I want to test if you need a regular tent to "unlock" the options for packing both of them

I think the attachment point is for the sleeping bag. The one you unpack and put into the tent to increase sleeping comfort.

I don't know, dude. 'Cause it says on the tent kit info that you can attach it on a backpack. And since the game is about realism, people can attach a tent IRL.
I haven't tried it with a sleeping bag, since I haven't found any. Did you try it?

the crafting menu for packing tents has the improvised tent kit icon, but it's old name(tent kit) so i's say they forgot to update the strings when it was renamed

I haven't tried it with a sleeping bag, since I haven't found any. Did you try it?

I attached a sleeping bag once, it gives the standard encumbrance bonus (70% lighter iirc) without occupying space in the bag so it's pretty neat if you want to carry one around you at all times.
I actually haven't tried attaching a tent since the crafted one cannot be packed due to the reason mentioned above and the installed tents I found cannot be picked up.
