I disagree, almost entirely. A lot of people use extended events in single player, multiplayer servers don't usually have it and after a few play throughs it becomes a minor inconvenience rather than the crazy shock it was the first time you encounter it. It would be akin to removing an annoying enemy, or at worst, the first boss from one of those characters games.
2 discussions below this one, not written by me "I have never been a heli guy, so I turn it off"
Removing the event for everyone simply because "you" don’t like it comes across as a bit self-centered.
Like I said, I don't care about it. I don't see it as a big problem or the point of it. What I would prefer is a helicopter event that makes sense, not a helicopter that follows you around for no reason and then disappears forever.
Also what is with all this, "turn it off in the sandbox settings" ♥♥♥♥ we are seeing on the discussions so much lately. We're on a general discussion board, for discussing opinions.
Lastly, why would I care that I am coming across as self centred? It is a discussion literally labelled as a hot take... almost like I knew it would be an unpopular opinion.
Mod creators are there for a reason to add flavor to people who want it. Not everyone uses mods
Bro just turn it off is it so difficult? Some people like it.
If he is following you, he is looking at you, and he can see it with his own eyes.
Yeah, something like that would work, or you can find it crashed on the map somewhere. Or somebody over a loud speaker trying to give you directions to something such as a safe zone or an evacuation point. Make you try and write down notes at the same time as avoid the horde.
FWIW I always assumed the helicopter was a newscopter and I was being filmed and shown live on TV in an area clear of infection. I've met enough journalists in my life to know they don't care what happens to the people that get them an interesting story. Some piers morgan wannabe in a heli isn't going to turn off footage just because it could end with the subject being eaten. He'd just be seeing the awards.
It has to be there, yet you can turn it off? Also, it happens once in the first 10 days, then never happens again, why don't the zombies need moving around the map again? I know that is the devs party line, but something is not adding up here.
I have been playing since 2013, if I want to complain about it, I will.
