Build 42. Zombie densitiy is way to high.
As I aways do in EVERY build this game ever had I start at Muldraugh. My strategy is to look for a generator and plug it on the gas station on the edge of town so I can use it after the power is off. But there is 200+ zombies around the gas station. Spend 3 in game days luring they away so I can do my thing but it is impossible there is aways 3 zeds left at the gas station and if I start to fight them the noise will lure more. It is beyond frustrating and I have no pacience for this ♥♥♥♥ anymore.

They need to tweak the spawn settings, the current levels mean you'll never get into any semi-important space until months later

The point of this beta is to provide feedback. Saying to just change the settings yourself is missing the point.

No he should not. Currently apparantly there is an issue with that system and whatever you do it will just increase the density and pop.

Also i would say it feels more uneven certain parts that do not make sense, have like 50-100 zombies, there. Whereas where it should is almost completely empty.

Feel free to post a pic. I'm quite convinced zombie pop was cut back big time or they're bugged af. Don't expect them to be grouped up the same or have same heat map as b41.

An image would help because... That sounds like the gas station at Muldraugh BEFORE this build lol.

that gas station had more zombies in b42 when I was testing. Not surprised if they want to make that area hotter than before. Overall, I didn't see a crazy amount compared to b41.

Kinda with censored on this one. Want less zombies then pick less zombies.

I would add though that I heard you can't pick a number anymore for pop. Only the preset very low - insane amount intervals.

I just want to say ty to everyone that is testing this release so far and reporting back. Saves me time that could be spent other ways. I'm waiting for stable adjustments.

I think he just means it's too high in the pre-existing game mode (Survivor or Apocalypse), as in it needs balancing.
HecticSpaniard Dec 22, 2024 @ 8:54am
I agree that there will be much balancing on the horizon. I don't agree that the density is too high. There are many ways to clear a large area of zombies, I don't know what else to say about it. It seems fine to me.

Wait, wait, WAIT a SECOND.

I've posted, and even emailed Indie Stone to which I got no reply officially. I asked them if they are going to address zombie culling in build 42.

One dev said they were considering it in a thread last year. but they deleted the comment, and went silent on the matter.

With zombies being culled in multiplayer, especially on higher zombie counts, why INCREASE zombie count even further when they were already having performance drops?

Granted, I know this is single player, not multiplayer. But given their silence, and lack of willingness to address the question- making it seem like they have no intention of working on it. Why on earth do this?

If you think that's bad, head on over to Guns Unlimited 💀

you are a noob you don't know how to play. I play on full zombie population, no zombie respawn and i take the unemployed guy. Just alter the sandbox settings when you can't handle some hardness. Just burn the zombies down, have some molotov cocktails.
maviscruet Dec 22, 2024 @ 9:28am
I don't think turning numbers down is the answer. A sandbox solution maybe to turn off the urban focus on distribution as my experience is that the countryside is empty right now whilst towns and gas stations in particular seem to be clogged with zombies.

what I've liked about B42 is that it makes me think and do different things. I feel like I'm using more resources and taking more risks for smaller rewards and this is good. I played too much B41 and I'd be like the OP here. I'd have a set routine of what I need to do and when for a nice smooth survival run. B42 feels a lot more varied and now I don't think any run will quite be the same - that is until we learn the ratstrats again and the order we should be doing them. Adapt of die.
