B42 - LOW FPS - RX 580
The translation was made on the Russian network Yandex Translate, the author of the post does not know English.

Hi, I'm a guy from Russia, I bought a game, played 700 hours in B41, I was happy to upgrade to B42, in B41 I constantly monitored FPS + played with builds of mods that I sorted manually and monitored resource consumption, when playing for a year with a build of 200+ mods, I noticed that my game consumed 8GB of RAM, while in Vanilla the game consumed 2-4 GB of RAM, while in Vanilla the game consumed from 1 to 2 GB of Video memory, and with clothing mods such as AuthenicZ and Britta's Armor Pack, the game consumed from 4 GB of video memory, with Vanilla B42, my RAM at the minimum graphics settings, it goes beyond 14 GB of RAM, and the video memory goes beyond 8 GB, and I don't understand why, I'm very discouraged and don't know what will happen next, because there's no video memory left for mods, but unlike the b41, the b42 doesn't crash when the video memory is cluttered, but it doesn't bother me. saving, 20 FPS at maximum proximity and 40 FPS on the street, 10 FPS with drops up to 2 FPS at a distance

My PC:

INTEL E5 2630 V2 (6/12 Cores)
16 GB DDR3 1600 MHZ
AMD RADEON RX 580 (8048 MB)
PowerBlock 700W

Also your mods from B41 might be affecting.

Hi, thanks for the reply! I answer, 2048 px + no compression, I get 20 FPS with 8 GB of video memory consumption, with 256 + compression, I get 20 FPS with 8 GB of video memory, I want to kill myself against the wall with such indicators, b41 is calm 300 FPS with 2 GB of RAM and 1 GB of video memory

No, I'm sorry, I probably described it wrong, I deleted the entire zomboid folder from /users after I deleted all mods from the steam/common/workshop folder./

B42 is giving some shoddy FPS and stuttering even on mid to high end PC's as well. I think it's just, literally, unstable right now.

As KHAr said.
If you do not unsub it will just be constantly redownloaded offering you a chance to botch the game even more so.
Make a collection of your mods, that way you will be able to download them en masse if you wish to return to B41. Then unsub from the mods, and then delete them.
Probably a verification and/or a reinstall of the game might also be necessary.

I'm also suffering from low fps on a rx 580 8gb. I also have 16gb ram but my cpu is a r5 2600. The game is kinda playable but I get awful stutters when I try to zoom out and move the camera away. Memory usage hovers around 12-14gb which is very strange. I also uninstalled the game, deleted all files, unsubbed from all mods, tried all settings and nothing seems to fix it. It's probably something to do with older amd gpus.

Well i am in Echo Creek did not notice any of that on a 5800X ryzen, and a 7700 AMD card. 32 GB ram. might be that the pop is just too low or something. Or i did not play long enough:)

Sorry! I have led you to a dead end, I am a programmer and a very good PC user, of course I deleted all the mods from the workshop by enclosing them in a collection, they are not in subscriptions, after I cleared the /workshop folder, and then the /zomboid folder
I'm sorry that I didn't give enough information initially!:spiffo:

Was the order you described this way? uninstalled, deleted files, reinstalled and unsubbed?
(Dont want to be an a**e just clarifying as it can be that you just effed up the order, which would be a pretty human mistake and can happen to any of us.)

Yes, I understand you! I measured the performance on Vanilla b41 and b42, it's terrifying!
After all, the developers promised and showed 400 FPS at the maximum distance, but I got 20 FPS at 25% ZOOM.

Ah got it. Yeah with older AMD cars, there apparantly is an issue. Beard also gets a lot of reports about it.
Some guy posted about it in general discussions as well, and apparantly solved it, but never provided the answer. So either he was trolling or just being...
