The combat in B41 was mindless. The server I played B41 on we had single players killing entire towns in like an hour (as an attempt to keep zed populations down for noobs).
Can't be doing that now. I like it.
I haven't had any issues with combat, when I'm fatigued, I just don't engage. The first bit of leveling up sucks, as it should when you start out but now that I've got 3 points in my weapon choice it's hardly an issue.
I think it makes combat far more dynamic instead of "slowly walk backwards and swing until you run away." Now I have to use a combination of weapon and push and stomp and think before engaging because it might get me killed.
Less brainless button mashing IMO.
only problem i have with B42 is that i still have not seen much of it because i have gotten a little obsessed with playing with the new shooting - as well as spending way too much time reading through the forum
but also - shooting at night is awesome with the new lighting :-)
basically - B41 is a great game - with a great workshop - that can stand together as an amazing chapter in gaming history
but B42 is really really exciting - because the devs have B41 and the workshop as a baseline for what works and what people love - and everything they add or change is now open as part of the new baseline that will be modded over the years - as they polish the base features - with us eventually having a B42 that is as polished (or more) than B41, but with lots of new cool features - and a new workshop brimming with even more interesting mods
it is a time of glory in the battle against the undead
and i am loving the new "thud", "splat" sounds every time i nail a headshot lol
but yeah - soon i shall move from shooting to other stuff
but just one more horde - coz this new full auto M16 is my new best friend...... (sorry old best friend, but you just ain't as badass)
happy days :-)
That's why I've never played single player. I only bought the game after they added multiplayer and I became a regular on a server. Built a tower and mingled with the community.
PZ is a great social experience online if you find the right server/group.
...it can also be a nightmare but that's humans being human for you. 🤷♂️
Seem like strange to me.
