Muscle strain makes the game all about fence stomping, it's really boring
Please just let me use my weapons. I will kill zombies regardless, might as well let me use my weapon. Seriously B41 combat was perfect, why fix what ain't broken.

Why are you shaming someone who wants to test the new build? Get a grip, buddy.

He is not shaming anyone. He is pointing out a flaw in people's behaviour.
Many people have been demanding the unstable B42 beta release.
And among them there are many that are now complaining regarding various issues. Instead of you know trying to voice their issues in cultured, civilized and constructive way, that would offer something valuable?
Quite a lot act like spoiled children who wanted to have a blueberry popsicle but were given a pear popsicle and now are literally throwing a fit cuz of it.
It is not shaming to point out if you are behaving ridiculously. It is pointing out that in order to have your voice heard, you need to be able to present your cause in an articulate and understandable way.
Man stfu, we are using the forums exactly as intended. The want feedback, we're giving feedback. We don't have to like everything.

Hate to break it to ya but that isn't changed because of muscle strain, it's changed because we still don't know where everything is. You can still get everything the same way you could before, by herding zombies running in circles and driving them away and going back in to loot. They are still the same slow, stupid zombies.
Not so sure about this. I tried to ball the zombies up near the buffet place in Muldraugh. I led them into a clearing in the forest and tried to ditch them. But I still had too many stragglers to safely fight following me, and I was already on the first level of fatigue so a drawn out fight wasn't an option. I really had to lead them on a winding path around the houses and jump some tall fences to get rid of them and still had to kill a couple.

Not a complaint by the way. Just an observation.

It works just as well as in B41, it was just user error. There's always stragglers if you don't double back a few times. In any case the good window stomp works to kill anything left.

Yeah that is true that is why there are OPTIONS available for you to try also, now have you tried changing them?

Sounds like skills issue to me, muscle strain really makes fighting a bit harder but it isn't that much trouble.

I dunno man. I didn't demand build 42. I knew it will be going in beta unstable until it's polished. I expect that I can play and provide my feedback on the experience and hope it will be valuable. You sound like you're just annoyed on devs behalf because OP describes his experience in oh-not-so-eloquent-and-calm-way-you-want-and-isn't-as-hardcore-as-you-so-you-don't-care.

Are you functionally illiterate as well? The devs want feedbacks on the new mechanics, how the hell can I test them if I turn them off?

No, it makes it boring. Find a fence, stomp them. It's not hard.

Maybe your issues with the muscle strain are user error.

None of what you have said is feedback other than you dont like the system and are unwilling to try other methods and change the strain factor down to see if it helps you or not.

Explain more into detail as to why not just "this sux" thats not helping lol

Wow, what a mess this place has become. I mean, it is simple is it not? To those saying 'just turn it off, it's irrelevant' - The devs quite literally told everyone to give their feedback on what they think about it, admitting that they will dial it in or remove it in the future if necessary. So, now is the time to give feedback on it. The devs want to dial in the 3 default starting settings. Sandbox needs no dialing as we can do that ourselves. If you guys haven't noticed, they are attempting to simplify certain aspects of entry into a game that they feel has become too complex for some players. They have stated this as a reason for changing trait names for example. So, devs want feedback on muscle strain, firearms, and all new features right now.

However, on the opposite end of the argument, that feedback should be generally constructive, even if you hate it. BUT, the biggest most important thing to note for all involved is -------------- They DO NOT want your feedback here! On the initial blog announcing the unstable build, they are very clear that if you want to give feedback, or affect any changes in the unstable build, you must post your feedback in the bugs section of their own Indie Stone forums (link provided in that initial blog about the release). The devs rarely take feedback from Steam into account (with the exception of things like the AI stuff which blew up everywhere). If you truly want something dialed in, changed, or just to make the devs aware of your thoughts on it, go to The Indie Stone forums and express it. Otherwise, all you really want to do is discuss your thoughts with others on Steam (which is your right) but do not pretend that it is having any impact into the future of Unstable.

Lastly, to all those complaining about the whining and childishness............ I mean, I get it. I do. But I think we all forget something about Steam and the internet as a whole sometimes..... a lot of these gamers are literally pre-teens.. I mean, we have 40 year old adults likely arguing with 10 year old kids and expecting the conversation to match up in tone and maturity. So yeah, I think a lot of childishness does come from, well, actually children. At least I hope that most of it does......

Just my thoughts. Destroy me now fellow internet denizens.

My thoughts on the matter are more or less in line with what DragonKing lDCCl said - the new mechanic is essentially gatekeeping you from recon any mildly populated area by adding an overt realism between other mechanics that are far from realistic, which leaves strange aftertaste. I really hope the overall things that influence combat will be at the common denominator at the end. As I mentioned earlier, devs can make fast healer actually useable trait by adding strain regen speed to it, making it essential for a melee characters and adding new depth to a stale trait meta where everyone takes "free points" and minmaxes their character to the ground. They already made a great work by nerfing a lot of negative traits, and this change makes sense for current build too.

Don't let it get to you, some people just live to gatekeep.

Muscle strain seems more like a statement about the direction of the game than a mechanic. People aren't even talking about all the other added grind that was already questionable in previous build. Cheap design. It will get dialed back and you will get chewed up if you don't change opinion when that happens.

so many slam dunk features they could spend time adding to the game. Compare feedback to those great additions to this.

You can disable it in the settings or turn it down

keep seeing this reply, it misses a larger point. every design choice that requires a sandbox setting further divides the multiplayer playerbase. it's another thing you must filter for when looking for a server to play on if it's a clear red line for you as a player.

You can give me 1k sandbox settings and it only makes the problem worse for multiplayer, not better. The vanilla settings matter.
