some of the eating sounds have the person eat with no manners at all. ex: mouth open mashing and smacking and slurping ... LEARN ETIQUETTE BRO!

Ixion had a rather loud example of this.
Among the characters who conduct the pre-flight briefing, the head of Cryonics for DOLOS Aerospace is eating during his segment and the chewing noises are quite noticeable. He pauses a few times to work on his meal, getting louder each time.
This was deliberately included to help establish that the guy is a glutton and greedy. His nature comes into the fore when we discover what he got up to after our experimental FTL ship trashes Luna.
The noises were difficult for many players to ignore and they submitted feature requests to add a "Misophonia Mode" to the Accessibility tab of Settings, to mute these noises, and/or complained frequently on Reddit, the Steam forum, and on the Ixion Discord.
Bulwark Studios obliged and added the setting to game.
