I would think they're mad as heck about it and will probably engage any legal recourse they have. I mean they commission art and they get AI jank.. That doesn't feel too good when you paid for it.
I thought some of it was fun in concept, shame it wasn't drawn properly is all.
As for litigation, i dunno what can be done. You could alledge that this sort of stuff does damage TIS brand integrity and good will, but whether or not you could do anything about it after the fact, i don't know.
The particular load screen that featured the radio operator also could be alleged to infringe on the last of us IP by essentially being Ellie drawn over, so...
Ai or not i loved it, they removed the art im so saddended by this, i loved the main menu.
All i want to say on the matter , thanks tis for giving this build to us before christmas xoxoxo
Onward to collect more ratshit
I would have liked it if instead of saying good bye to it, we could have a redrawn version, to keep the spirit of the scenes, but redraw them properly and by human hands.
Some of the ideas of that art were cool i thought
yeah - the devs have now made a statement about this - but it may well have gotten lost in the trash pile that some people have been trying turn this forum into
personally i liked that the background for the new loading screen moved - and that there was a window - there were definitely some inconsistencies across the piece in terms of fidelity - some aspects much more detailed and others blurry in the lit shot - but the dark shot looked great
and the loading screens were fine/fun - again with some inconsistencies in some of their aspects/tone etc
but i personally found the way that the "community" raged about it to be pretty disgusting - and then acted like it was some great victory when the screens were removed - instead of the culmination of something sad that they had contributed to by plastering the forum with multiple threads full of wild conjecture and trash talking, without a shred of empathy
personally i wish someone had just quickly posted the reddit post where someone made a reasonable argument about the strangeness of the artwork - without frothing at the mouth or throwing slanderous bile all over the place
instead we got that crapstorm to add to the mountain of people just trash talking everything they can think of with utter ignorance of what the first unstable version of a major release of an Early Access game means
as well as the irony that many of these people were likely previously trash talking the devs for not rushing the release out in response to their demands
anyway - trust the Steam "community" to suck the joy out of anything they can at any opportunity
hopefully it will die down soon and the devs will get the positive response they deserve for all their years of hard work
and hopefully only those players actually interested in contributing to the development of B42 will post - and do so constructively by posting informative bug reports and reasonable suggestions and discussion topics
unlikely - but it's one of my holiday wishes ;-)
Merry Christmas :-)
Mod it in yourself. AI slop won't be hard to create, just learn how to put it in game and that's all you'll have to do.
Welcome to the internet, where the dumbest voices are the loudest are the most correct. Did you expect anything less than a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of self-righteous fury? My poor, sweet summer child.
I honestly thought some of the art was uncanny, too. But I was just disappointed that they removed the creepy teddy-bear from the main title art.
Wtf is that quote. I never wrote that.
They already had good non-ai art ( ai isn't art, art is what humans do and ai output has no human author no one created it ) so why throw in ai slop for no reason?
All you're saying is that you don't respect and want to spit in the face of the countless of human creatives who have created everything you claim to love and consume.
All of you who support it and make excuses for it are actively hurting and spitting on everyone who created every piece of media important to you and are supporting tech bros stealing all of our data to push out derivative slop in order to automate human expression away.
You're short-sighted and the same type of people who allowed things like mtx to reach the point it did you have no perspective or shame or any respect for the people who's work you rely so heavily on in your lives.
If I had seen it when I logged in ( haven't tried the build until now ) I would've uninstalled and deleted the game, I want nothing to do with it and the fact that the devs even thought it was okay and a good idea to try it even is really sad.
If some idiot comes in and tries to argue that it learns like humans do and that artists just learn by looking at other artists I am gonna ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lose my mind, I hate how this conversation is like 80% people who have never practiced anything creative in their life before and entitled tech bros.
You're all throwing our humanity under the bus for a quick endorphin rush.
