things I like B42
I'll start with the moodles, they're quite reminiscent of computer games from the era the game's set in and I'm guessing that's what the devs have gone for. They wouldn't be out of place on an Atari or Amiga game from the early 90s. I do wish the one for bleeding was a bit more prominent. A laceration to the neck is more important to me than muscle strain...

I'm normally a player who will find a sturdy melee weapon and then walk through whatever horde the game puts in my way. So my first game has been a replication of my usual playstyle. I'm not going to moan about my character being exhausted after putting down 54 zombies on what I'd hoped would be a trip to the store. Speaking of which, getting a last swing at a zombie with the broken remains of my bat was pretty cool.

I like the changes to literature where books/magazines have titles. Being able to read endless untitled books and magazines that then magically disappear never felt right to me. I'm assuming that whatever I read now loses it's entertainment value but retains it's use as fuel for a fire.

found two basements within houses so far. one was a home casino/bar and the other a photolab. Thought has gone into these and their purpose. One of these was in my starter house and contained an occupant, which was a bit of surprise as I was getting ready to step into the outside world.

the few garages I've looked through so far seem to be stocked with a variety of things for crafting that promises fun going forwards. and small touches like having named ID cards on some of the zombies is a nice touch. It's always nice to know who you kill.

Met one animal so far - a sheep - that ran into me and knocked me over.

so to summarise, I can still kill zombies but was vanquished by a sheep. Looking forwards to plenty more hours exploring the new build. First impressions are promising.

Agreed on all points. When I saw the ID on my first character, I was like cool, we get ids, then I found one in the wallet of a dead zed and was stoked. I often collect dog tags and such and rename them with a random name and rank. This is just another step. Also, wallets are containers now!

I am a huge fan of the b42 map, the new Cities and the touched up old ones. Whoever did that work, they did it in a stellar fashion and get all my kudos for it.

Love the lighting too, but i have some issues with the curtains blocking 100% of the light now.

I think both those things are big positives for b42 that shine even in the unstable version.

I do like collecting random items of zombies I've killed. Usually my safehouse has a jewellery collection or credit card stash - I'm definitely going to have a room of ID cards with this build.

tonnes of details from elecronics on the walls all roofs now have stuff on them. flat roofs that were previously pretty barron. Some roofs are now accessible where they were not previously. And there are some new traps which nearly got me caught by the walkers. in map design. I liked it. Took a tonne of time to rip a shirt, and it was genuine.
The dark rooms are also terrifying.
The spawn was much better than normal and looting indeed much more to think about
i even grab the hot water bottle not knowing if its useable as a hot water bottle or if why.
its a gg
no doubt.
its just bumped my skill down massively. and i am standing outside wp police station 100 shells spent, with the entire town collected on a siren 74 kills, like what the hell do i do now? i cant exactly live there when i can't kill them.i burnt the bastards. but after that a sadness came over me that i wasted 100 shells thinking it would be worthwhile. Most kills made with the 9 mil from start.

i couldn't imagine IRl burning through 100 shells for gotta be less than 30 hits.

Yeah, closing the curtains in a room and going into total darkness was a surprise. But a little red light showing where the lightswitch was in the room was a nice touch. I also liked how leaving the door open gives some half-light in the room.

What I like:
- Map updates, basements
- Animals
- New newspapers, flyers, radio and TV channels
- New voices, ambient sounds
- Lighting is chef's kiss
- Being able to craft more stuff, but I haven't gotten into it much yet.

I also like the big map in the spawn point selection screen. It's pretty cool to zoom in and look at.

I like that they added vegetable gardens and chicken coops around the map. It's a nice detail and it makes farming part of the world instead of something you have to add to it to see it.
