Build 42 is a disappointment

I waited for Build 42 for so long but it is the most disappointing update. if they had just added features rather than the bad moodles, the bad fighting mechanics, the bad UI. if only they kept the base game the same, cause the art was great and the gameplay was so satisfying. I looked forward to new features, not a rework. my favorite game feels lost, hopefully it gets better with updates

Everyone has waited for Build 42. It's an unstable build, and most of what you are interacting with are incomplete features that require larger testing pools and user feedback so they can be improved. In the meantime, if you hate the unstable update, just revert back to build 41 :)

1) finished
2) polished
or 3) balanced?

do you read the patch notes?? it's a pre-release, it isn't even an alpha..

That's why it's called "unstable" provide feedback so things can be changed and go in the right direction

I'm starting to think that the community doesn't know what it wants. Its like the Sonic fanbase. Either you have two ends of the extremes. Really positive or really negative and even if somethings going good it doesn't go good for them regardless.

you should have learned that already because its true of every community. never ask them what they want because they don't know and won't agree. nothing you give them will ever be enough if you ask for what they want first.

this is universally true of all people groups in all situations; try getting a group of your friends and ask where they want for vacation.
then get a different group and suggest a place for them.

Which is precisely why threads like this pop up, so players can voice disappointment and offer feedback. That's the entire point of this unstable build.

The best thing to do is to stop expecting it to get better, play it how it is now, and if it doesn't get better in the future, just keep playing 41 instead. If you keep waiting you'll just be let down when it inevitably doesn't hold up.

Polish? If you read any dev notes from this year, they apparently been "polishing" it every dev update they have released this year, and pretty much since they been talking about this build. You could legit make a fun drinking game each time they used the word polish or other similar language. So if this update has no polish, or thought put into it, that is sad. I am looking forward to this update and release, and hell, even downloading the update now, but if you are saying there is zero polish, balance, or care put into it, then what have the devs been doing the last few months. There has to be at-least some polish, finish, and balance, they been pushing off an unstable test for months while they worked on "polishing" it future. If they were just pushing a buggy thoughtless release, they would have done it months before, that's why they been waiting till the last second.

The patch notes do not mention that is isn't polish(that they would like to do, of course they do it is PZ devs), nor did they say that it would be unbalanced, just that it *might* be and they will work on it based on "player feedback".

Equally misleading people what the dev's said, and also people just complaining and not leaving constructive and helpful feedback are nether helpful or productive. People are allowed to be upset about an update that has taken years to make, but we also be mindful that the devs have also worked on this update for years, and an unstable release might have issues, and to hand-wave and say that the dev's haven't tried any polish, or to balance it is wrong too, because their blog disproves your exact statement, the only correct thing is that it is unfinished, which is true because it being not a stable release.
