Muscle strain
Killed 8 zombies with a bat and now my character is wining about muscle strain. Is bro built like a twig or what? Is there any way to improve this? I'm guessing levelling up strength or something.

Edit: I have level 7 strength so I shouldn't be getting muscle strain that fast, surely.

it wares off pretty quickly seems the more you hit while under strain the worse it become and the longer it takes.

Major violence nerf i not sure how to play

It IS an unstable build so we'll just have to deal with it for the time being.

I took out about 12 zombies before I noticed the attacks were slowing down and I checked the health UI panel. Also saw that the strength skill says it decreases the muscle strain the higher it is, but that's concerning if you were at Lv7. I was playing with default Lv5 strength when I noticed that it came up.

I took out 6 zombies with a carving fork (short blade) before I found a couple of hammers to use for the next 4 before I was struggling with the last couple due to the muscle strain.

I'm wondering if the object we're wielding & striking zombies with affects the rate, or perhaps the amount of time we're swinging & clobbering in a short period increases this? Maybe we need to space out the amount of zombies we're killing instead of bringing in a group of 5 or more to kill all at once; i.e., just bring 1 over to you & kill, rest, then repeat.

Some of the traits you picked might be affecting it as some of them got updated like shortsighted making you basically blind without glasses.

I went with Lumberjack with level 6 strength and haven't run into this issue.

the character takes a short break when under strain every 8 or so hits, he takes a breather
One thing about it. It gives pain pills more of a use, with the injury system lacking. At least I figure pain pills mitigate some of the muscle strain.

Interestingly, according to a study I found when browsing the net. Taking pain pills may aid in developing more muscle mass so perhaps this could be a good thing in disguise where the devs could implement some bonuses to gaining strength in this way.

I theorize with this being unstable they may do far more with the muscle strain in the future. While this is the groundwork being laid.

Oh damn they actually nerfed Short Sighted? Thats a welcome change. For the longest while it really had no impact on the game and was free points.

From what I understand muscle strain is its own thing separate from strength and fitness and is connected to your skill with that kind of weapon. So the more you use a particular kind of weapon the less muscle strain you'll deal with.

My source is literally a youtube comment though so take that with a pile of salt.
