Making Coke/charcoal

Does anyone know how you actually make coke/charcoal?

I've googled it and various sources say you can put wood in barrels and fire pits to burn and you receive these in return, but I can't confirm this can anyone here do so?

Build the charcoal burning pit with a spade and click on it, it converts logs into wood charcoal which works just fine for the furnace and forge

oh thanks, I didn't know that existed, its a bit funny that it makes charcoal instantly though lol

Thought the same way, it's just too instantaneous right? It's probably a placeholder recipe that will be rebalanced in the future, just like how butter used to be so OP when unstable first came out.

Best way to wrap your ahead around new crafting is look through all the craft stations in the build menu.

you can drive to mccoy estate to look at the pit and advanced smithy setup
