I just encountered the Jason voorhees in rosewood, he busted through the front door of the house i was just about to loot, scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me i was fumbling the keyboard. After i took care of him i went in the house and there was a dozen corpses on the ground, this was legitimately creepy as hell and i loved it. I wish i could find more scenarios like that in the game. I'm over 500h in so far.

Yeah those kinds of set pieces are rare but super entertaining when they happen. Don't forget to loot Jason by the way, he has some good stuff!

it's possible you might be able to increase the chances of these set pieces, by adjusting settings.
so goto sandbox the next time.
select apaocalypse if that is your default setting usually, and then make adjustments.

look under the 'meta' option. there are 'two stories' selections. one for roads and the other for 'zone' 'stories. they normally are both on 'rare'. i say raise them both up to 'sometimes'. while i'm not sure if the jason story falls under those settings, it might, and even if not, the other general stories are pretty cool.

off the top of my head, the scenes that i've experienced that are notable:
i found car with blood stains on the passenger side, and a suitcase filled with money lying next to it.

found a bunch of zombified hunters by a camp all kitted out with guns.

found the jason vorhees scene.

and a camping site with two couples naturally zombified.
