You will need a significant amount of kills to level aming in latest beta, so be prepared, craft / find thousands of ammo before you actually try to level guns effectively. Do not forget that Aiming and Reloading both have a skillbooks that can grant you signifacant boost in leveling speed. Those can be hard to find (especially high levels), but you can still try to find them.
To give you some example: to level aiming from lvl. 4 to lvl. 6, i had to kill entire population of Rosewood prison with 2x population (and that was with skillbook boost mind you).
Currently i'm in deep september and have Aiming lvl. 8 and Reloading lvl. 9. With semi-auto shotgun i can easily overpower small to moderate hordes, mowing them all down before they can even reach me (if i have enough ammo of course). As the aproximate to how many kills i did using shotguns to get this far it would be ~5000 kills or something like that.
Just to make things clear, i play as Veteran and have default chance-to-damage mode for guns.
