How to get lots of clay
Is there any better method than foraging on roads? With level 3 foraging and searching for a few hours every day for 15 days im yet to find any

seems better foraging for clay after a rain, but I've found them in all weather conditions both in the road and on the forest. You can find it looting, and though it's supposed to be increased with the new patch I haven't actually ever found clay by looting across multiple playthroughs.

There are also mods including one called, "Dig for Clay" I believe.

To my understanding the loot table for clay is only in schools. There's a chance to find a bag of clay
Look for metal shelving in closets in schools. Found like 5 bags in West Point's grade school one game. Not sure Riverside has the right loot tables for it yet. Also found some in the school near Ruby Gas.

For foraging. Rain helps a lot. Try gravel and roads when raining. People keep recommending near bodies of water but this has never worked for me.

Clay can be foraged along gravel roads pretty reliably now. Set your focus to stone as its on the same loot table as stones. They also tend to give 3ish clay per find instead of 1 now, so its way easier to get the amounts you need. Forests as well, but not very often.
