Can you get infected from non zombie induced scratches?

I started up a run to try and kill all the zombos in game and I fell and scracthed myself and the next day I started showing symptoms and then died the day after

did you get back up as a zombie, and only zombies can infect so if you did, it was a zombie scratch from earlier(what's your infection trait, resilient, normal or prone)

You can get infections, but not the zed infection. So you can start to feel sick because your wound is infected from not cleaning it, it is survivable if you try to treat it

If you were scratched by a zed, depending on your settings, you can get zed infected that way, if you fell then it is a regular infected scratch not cleaned

Sounds like you died of a regular infection. Zed infection only happens if youre bitten/scratched by a zomboid, but you can still get a regular infection from dirty wounds (Ex: not cleaning the scratch or just getting unlucky). Unless you changed any of the settings, you shouldnt get back up if you die of a regular infection. EDIT: youre traits could also play into how fast/slow youll die.

When you get scratch by a zombie, does it reduce the chance of being infected if you wash your clothes?

I think the scratch zed infection is static to the scratch itself. Getting an infected wound is dependent on washing clothes/wound and bandaging. And even cleaning wounds can still give an infection, so always have antibiotics handy and lookout for the sickness trait, having the uncomfortable trait due to heat is a sign of infection compared to your ambient temp and clothing

Zed Scratch infection was 10% or something in B41, I don't think they changed it for B42, but it was a low chance when enabled
