Oh, I didn't realize this was a build 42 feature.
I'm not asking to highlight anything that's outside the player character's line of sight, the whole point is that there can be zombies within the PC's line of sight that are still hidden by houses/walls/fences. This only happens to me when outside
It's not resolved, the cutaway system is primarily for indoors, and this visual bug happens outside
That is not what they are talking about. They are talking about if you are walking down towards a building the yard isn’t shown until you get fairly close (unless you enter combat stance and target the area as others have said), thus potentially hiding zombies your character should be able to see.
Having to navigate through a context menu is more immersion-breaking than the bug itself

The game view is isometric, so you look at the world from the same above angle at all times.
At times a player character approaches a building from an angle where the character should be able to see zombies, but the place is obscured by the building's walls/roofs from the angle the player is viewing the world.
In B42 you can go into combat stance (hold right click) and place the isometric cursor inside the building or just where you suspect a zombie to be.
Doing this hides walls/roof of the building like when your character steps behind a tall wall.
If your character has a clear view of the location you'll be able to see if zombies are there or not.
Hidden/transparent walls are only transparent to the player.
They still block the view of the character.
If the character can't see the zombie you won't either.
