Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit...
Anyone else find there is too much rabbit in B42. I like to play with low loot settings in a sort of 6months+ later scene. Typically in B41 food was scarce and when I landed a rabbit from trapping it was a GOOD day...but all too rare. Now as soon as I have a car I can run over all the rabbit I like with ease -- rabbit is always on the menu! I may be a masochist but this has made the game a but to easy. (Rabbit, for anyone who doesn't know, is one of the most calorific foods in the game, so if you can find it, its your days calories in one shot). Could you put a button in the sandbox settings to disable road kill(ing). Or make it much harder to hit rabbits, deer etc on the road. You could speed up the rabbits, for example. IRL those critters can MOVE.

But this aside, I'm loving the B42.

Today I thought I won the lottery when a total of 5 deer spawned right near my base and weren't running away instantly. I shot them all in a couple of ingame days.
After butchering the entire animals and ending up with a handful of venison I realized that in PZ, rabbits are much more high calorie than deer.

You'd have to butter up and dip your venison in lard before it even becomes a viable food item.

Wabbits freaking rule, dudes and dudettes.

EDIT: I truly hope that the Indie Stone fixes this by increasing venison calories instead of nerfing rabbits too.
The calorie minigame is the most annoying thing in vanilla, and I refuse to play this game without having the Nutritionist trait for that reason. :D

To be fair the rest of the food spawns have been much reduced - the days of raiding one kitchen and finding a weeks worth of canned food are gone. There certainly seems to be a deliberate push towards being forced to trap, farm and hunt.

All that said, I completely agree that its trivially easy to just run rabbits and deer down with a car which kind of removes the need to engage with actual trapping. Roadkill ftw :)

Are you trapping this run, Rain, or are you hunting them with a Buick?
I found a rabbit "herd?" that likes to live near McCoy and apparently they think they can hold "Just Stop Oil" protests in the roadway. They think wrong.

I trap 'em with carrots.

Easy as pie.
maybe add a roadkill modifier to animals hit with a car that reduces meat quality, to encourage "proper" hunting/trapping. While also making it so that small animals don;t ruin your hood/engine, just your tires.
