Any way to reduce discomfort without taking off armor?
I'm wearing elbow and knee pads and my character is always a bit uncomfortable, adding any body armor on makes them get sad. Anything I can wear for padding or something like that?

Not that I am aware of. I just take off the armor when I am not horde clearing. Or wear less of it.

Only really need arms/hands protected. They rarely hit anywhere else.

Would be nice if there was a kind of "get used to it" mechanic. Or if it only made you uncomfortable after hours of continuous wear or sleeping in the armor. I used to wear knee pads and elbow pads a lot when gutting my old house, never made me feel uncomfortable unless I wore it for 4-5 hours straight and then it was because It was all sweaty.

*fights bare handed in just underwear and boots*

*never gets uncomfortable*

*carries more loot*
With knee and elbow pads equipped, I tend to be fine. Dust mask is what pushes it over the limit for my character.
I think at least knees are worth it, pretty sure they positively effect your outcome if you trip and fall?
theres a new setting in sandbox / character
Would be a nice feature of the tailoring skill, making burdensome clothing/armor more comfortable.

That is a splendid idea. did you post that on the suggestions board?

according to a reddit post by a 4k hour zomboid chad, only crawling zombies can actually hit your legs. and standing zombies have a very slim chance to hit your groin. so cut any and all leg armor if you want to save on discomfort.

while i'm not certain he's right, i can confirm from my ~500 hours of experience, like 99% of my scratches/bites are arms/hands/torso/head. i can't remember the last time i got a zombie wound on my thigh for example.

me personally, i find wearing a hard hat for maximum head protection, and then elbow pads, is still minimum discomfort while covering the more annoying parts to protect. the torso is easy to protect via tailoring because a leather jacket, t-shirt, tank top, sweater, long johns, and an apron all with leather patches will get you to max protection or near max protection. you'll be hot as hell, but technically no discomfort.

if you're fighting a super horde, potentially add in additional neck protection with a leather/forged gorger and gloves.

A pillow on the bed increases comfort while sleeping.
Other than that I'm not aware of anything that actually increases comfort.

That mod seems like a good idea, just reading the title.

It doesn't need to be turned off, just slowed down a bit. (IMO)

Thanks!
