tracking/hunting tips?

just wondering if anyone has any helpful tips for advancing tracking or how to hunt?

i've seen a lot of helpful guides on farming and raising animals but not so much on this. i know you search for pawprints through the foraging menu but thats about it

This indeed seems to be the best hunting method currently :D roadkill rabbit is a staple of my character's diet now

But in the last patch, I even gain tracking experience from rats in the city

Do you have to do anything to start tracking? Like go into foraging mode?

ah... if you mean when will it start to gain exp... I think you don't need to do anything at all. I gained xp when I was crouching and walking near those rats in a house

I would like to know too.Rats is the only animal i have seen roaming around.My base is a house in West Point.Near the river.
