B42.1 - please let us wash bandages etc. using sinks etc. again.
In B42.0 - We were unable to wash bandages, rags, etc. using water from a sink, bathtub etc., which is still present in this latest update. Normally, I would just assume it is because it is unintended, and the devs have not gotten around to addressing this (which may still be the case).

However, since it was well-known in B42, and persists in B42.1, it is a little concerning, as it is now a bit unclear if this is an intended change or not. Have we heard anything about this somewhere, then please share.

At any rate, the consequences can be kinda problematic. In this new run, I got scratched early on, but had found a proper bandage in the house I was starting at. The bandage eventually gets dirty, so I figure I try to see if I could wash it in B42.1, which I confirmed that I was still unable to do. No biggie, just get something to store water.... which was surprisingly harder to do this time around due to bad luck. No glasses, no can opener to open cans or similar, and the bottles I found, were wine bottles, with no corkscrew in sight to open them.

Eventually I did find some glasses, after maybe 45 minutes of looking around? - which at that point, the bandage was long since dirty, so I halfway expected it to have gotten infected. I even hesitated to pick up the 3 glasses, cause lugging them around instead of a bottle for the same purpose seemed kinda... weird? - but also because I wanted to test to see how long it might take to find a substantial water container.

At any rate, I removed the bandage, and the scratch was healed, so not biggie. Not sure why the bandage got deleted in this instance though. I had removed it earlier to check on the status of the wound, and then re-applied the dirty bandage when I found the scratch to still be there. At any rate, I looked everywhere for the bandage, but it was just completely gone, which I don't recall being a thing before, so bug maybe?

The whole point of this account, is simply to illustrate why I hope they don't intend this to be the new way of cleaning bandages and such, cause if you get bad rng, especially for a new player, it will become unnecessarily complex to do something really simple. A new player will have to learn that they need a can opener for cans, that they HAVE to have water containers on them, and which items qualify etc., all while their wound might be getting infected while trying to figure this out. Aka, not a great experience.

it's not quite your issue, and what you describe should really be fixed, but in b41 infections and dirty bandages are a complete non-issue (Unless you did something truly crazy like pick the modded trait "burn ward patient", in which case you actually do need to change and clean *some* of your bandages to keep your hp up.)

are they actually an issue in b42?

IIRC ripped sheets have a chance of being lost when they are changed, while Proper bandages are always lost when you change them.
Washing rags is no longer a separate "Clean Bandages" option. They instead show up along with items of clothing in the "Wash" submenu.

As I tried to convey, it only disappeared the second time I removed it to clean the bandage once I got water. The first time, it landed in my inventory like bandages have always done in my many past hours of playing B41.

I think you are reffering to "bandaid", not "bandages", now that I think about it. Bandaids have always been lost upon removal, but these were proper bandages. I also do not recall rags ever being deleted upon removal like this, so it would be a new feature.

Huh, I guess I will have to take note of that for the next time I play. Makes sense that all washing interactions would be in that submenu.
