Enabling debug in B42 results in crash upon trying to open the game
As the title says, my game crashes when I try to launch the game in debug mode. I dunno if having mods installed is affecting this or not. I've tried verifying the game several times, but it gets stuck in an infinite download at 0%, so I'm pretty sure that that's not going to work.

Any advice? I'm going to try removing debug from the launch options and see if I can get the game to launch, in the meantime.

Crashing when running with -debug happened for me only when my mods were out of date and throwing load errors. You need to fix or disable mods.

I've removed all the mods I had that were meant for B41, but it's still crashing. Is there anything else I could do to fix mods, outside of unsubscribing and resubscribing to all of them?

Go to %USERPROFILE%\Zomboid\mods\default.txt edit it and remove mods from it until the game loads.

You can back up the file if you want to save your mod list.

The file, as in the steam folder with all the workshop files?

The path I gave has the %USERPROFILE% environment variable in it, which should equate to your user profile's path(C:\Users\<username>), where Project zomboid puts it's saves and settings, not your steam install or steam workshop folders.
