Project Zomboid

Are Knives working for you guys?
For some reason my knives don't seem to slice food. They can open cans but not slice baloney. Even a butter knife can slice baloney in real life, did you know that?
Also bread knife has no dulling capacity in game but does not slice bread. I cannot make a baloney sandwich. This is important because I live my life dangerously in this game. I smoke and drink and eat processed meats and ALL the candy in this game.

Slicing bread requires a "surface" in this silly awesome game.

So go stand at a kitchen counter, a wooden crate, or anything else that resembles a "surface" and you can use the new crafting menu to slice your bread. :)
and you can see waht you need for what recipe in the crafting menue upper right corner

Using the actual crafting menu though? I know that right clicking bread no longer allows for slicing it. You have to click that little craft menu icon on the left side of the screen or use the B button I think as a default?
Then search for "slice" and bang, slice dat bread.

Not that a surface crafting requirement is a huge issue, if at all, but it is a little irritating when you consider that you're most of the time literally standing on a huge mostly flat surface.

True Dat lol not that a dirty ground is maybe the best place, but desperate times like zombie apocalypse would mean the same measures xD

But like I can dice an onion in my hand, I can cut most vegetables in my hand... I know it's not "safe" and maybe as a consequence in game the attempt and lower cooking Stat might result in a cut to your hand. But yeah if the goal is "realism" to some extent. The floor or a wall, or so many other objects would work just fine :auyay:

You can still put something between, like some cardboard, or a cutting board. And not everything is hygiene sensitive. Not that a few seconds on the ground would be much of a contamination (assuming it's not rotten zombie slob).

Still could easily reward with a diarrhea depending on the ground and the individual. Not that a few bacilles would need a much time to crawl aboard.

Small chance of food poisoning, higher if it's blood covered haha

Oh if transmission of zombies is set to blood and saliva a fun way to mess with foes in mitiplayer feed then zombie blood covered sandwiches 🤣

OK that's probably to far but the idea is hilarious
