If you only eat when you get a hunger moodle and you run around doing things all day you are probably at around -2000 calories or worse..
The system works just fine and makes sense. Where people go wrong is assuming they don't burn calories.
If all you do is sit at home and read books and watch TV... yes you don't really need much food.
When your daily life is more physical activity than the average professional athlete... you need to eat a lot.
