Police Officer
Isnt it weird that Police officer has 0 short blunt, despite his main weapon being nightstick? There are also almost no traits for short blunt, so it is kinda hard to start with it.

I don't disagree that the lack of good short blunt skills is a problem. But, the PO profession specifically isn't all that weird.. Police officers were given night sticks, but, never really taught to use them... They're barely taught to use guns tbh.

PD's figure "It's just a stick, Why teach how to use it. Swing it at the people doing bad things EZ"
it is not just a stick that anyone can use, there are techniques to its use that require training.
So i think Police should take a short blunt, since theres no logic to his aiming being better than a vets. police 2 aiming 1 reload 1 sblunt; vet 2 aiming 2 reload seems fair to me.

just remove desensitized completely from vet, you have a balance a good toss up between it and officer.

You can keep de-sensitized and make the player pay for it. So its a unique upgrade to the vet profession, but can be shared by butcher for example. and maybe Doctor/Surgeon.

So that if u want rookie roleplay on the Vet. u can.
If you want tough seen it all b4 you can pay the extra for sensi

if you want sensitized with more professions maybe route through adrenaline junkie. so that picking that trait can unlock it for purchase, or picking the relevant professions that can unlock it.

It is. For immersion, I either give my character additional skill points and/or activate debug menu for spawning the nightstick and other essentials one would have at the ready.

I think from a balance standpoint, if you gave the police officer short blunt, it would make it even more meta than it already is. I don't debate the matter, just saying it would make the character a bit too stacked imo.

That said i'm all for more short blunt traits in general.

Surely he could be slightly nerfed in other aspects in return. Lower the aim by 1 or smth.

It's not the aim that makes the police officer OP ^^ it's more the presence of nimble on a class that has a skill in a weapon type. it's currently balanced by the fact this weapon type is guns, but give it a melee skill too, especially one as consistently good as short blunt, and let's just say i'm never playing any other background anymore ^^
Sandbox settings for the win.

Ahh I get it. Fair enough, free nimble is indeed very strong.
Reloading books ruin the value of reloading to the Vet.
so the balance would make Officer stronger
without sense.

If the reloading books are cut, then a cool balance can be had

to be fair reloading never had much value to begin with, at least past a +1, and even then.

Aiming was the prize pig and even then, police officer always was stronger than the vet because of how panic mitigation works over time.

If anything i think the gun books are kind of cool

Nimble on Police Officer occupation is sensible and is only one skill point anyway(would also be sensible on Veteran occupation), seeing as it influences ready-stance.
it had value that only not everyone had 100% in it and you couldn't climb to ten without that. So that would be the reason to play vet in 41. imo when you could do wide builds of many skills, and weapons.
now everyone can grind 10 reloading with the series of books

The first skillpoint is massive.

It's not obvious from the ingame UI, but, You start with a base level of 25% exp gain in a skill. That first point gives you +75%, totalling to 100% (or 'normal') exp gain. That first point effectively quadruples your exp gain rate. from not having it.

So, Getting +1 nimble is Huge, since Nimble is one of the hardest to level.
why not add a series of gymnastics books?

This isn't the UK. Cops in the USA just go BLAM BLAM BLAM. UK cops use those nightsticks.
