The gun is given to be able to test out the new ballistic mechanic. If you don't like any item e.g. the gun, you can go to any garbage can, drop it in and delete it. I do it also to clean up my base and get rid of random trash.
its to test the new firearm rework you can just drop them, one of the main points of unstable it to get mechanics like this balanced
I've only tried it a few starts. Run out of bullets long before Zeds, ultimately swap back to bludgeoning the Zeds to death. Until you get GuD at aiming, shooting and have a stockpile of ammo guns are not very useful especially in heavy population areas as they'll draw every Zed within a large radius to you, might as well be shouting as firing a gun.
