BTW checking the generator, it does mention power usage from 3 gas pumps, which means that the empty pump does not use power. I was surprised, because I didn't know that the two fueling stations actually are four different pumps. In B42 the generator info also lists the fuel consumed by the generator itself, which I think is a nice addition EDIT: Checked the load, the gen consumes 0.02 L/h
If you're really unlucky, all gas stations may be out of stock.
It seems like a bad move to set this without having any alternatives to gasoline.
Realistically it doesn't seem reasonable for gas stations to be out of stock a few days into a viral outbreak. We just had the coof IRL I don't recall seeing gas shortages despite people panic buying supplies.
I wonder if gas stations are not created equal, with bigger ones having better chance of more gas or if they are equally random.
in build 42 i can also set this in the sanbox options, but i really don't know how i should feel about it. on the one hand it's unrealistic if a gas station dispenses an infinite amount of fuel, on the other hand i have absolutely no idea what to do when the fuel runs out. especially since i think that if there are LIMITED fuel supplies at a gas pump, it shouldn't be so little that it would be stupid to do all the work to get there at all. the underground Tanks from a Gas Station are MASSIVE..
i've already started about 50 attempts in B42 and didn't even make it to a Fuel Station because it was way too hard. (the new system of how zombies are attracted during combat is rly harsh... your in combat and BAM.. half of the town is after you) too many zombies on the way there. (muldraugh in my Runs, i always settle in the south corner next to the little Pond)
And all that for maybe 5 canisters? AND then you still need the stupid generator manual which I found ONCE in the 50 attempts...
I'd rather leave it completely... and play without a generator.
Heat isn't the problem at all in Winter. but if the fridges fail in Summer, it becomes critical. maybe I just don't have the ideas because of rotting food... I don't know.
I actually like it when it's not too easy. #in B41 it was like that:
you have the generator, the manual, a car and something to farm or fishing... after that you theoretically had NOTHING more to do because you can take care of yourself...

is a balancing act, but I'll put it this way: If you can hardly get any gas even at a gas station, I simply see no reason why I should go to the trouble of getting there.
And thanks to all the new requirements for crafting and eating and drinking and and and, you can't just drive to another town to get fuel, especially as it will run out everywhere at some point.

You opted into an unstable beta. They changed a ton of stuff. Of course it's not balanced. Why TF do people struggle to understand this?
Edit it's like only some people are allowed to voice their opinions in his discussion board. There is no recognition that we're all players and we all have our own opinion. The reason the game was enjoyed was because there was come kind of balance. To see what was enjoyed suddenly gutted without explanation beyond "it's not balanced" seems like a joke. I would expect crafting to not be balanced - not the things that were already long in the game without issue.
Is the only valid response for honest questions on the forum since B42 going to be that it's unbalanced? That's how we'll excuse everything?
The pump could be empty because it was supposed to be refilled when the outbreak happens. *shruge*

They have made multiple post already that they wanted to made the game world have ¨¨living¨¨ before the Z start. To have gas pump not be a unlimited well of petrol( or even empty in my case) is legit a good chalenge idea as you never know if you it's worth time.
Player having skill issue should except to be laugh at.
