Temporary fix for car battery drain?
since the car battery drain is bugged rn and is going way quicker, any mods that help with this or a game setting in custom sandbox? or is it fixed?

hotfixes should start next week , i think people say take the key out of the ignition helps not 100% sure other than that you could login to debug and spawn a car charger in the meantime
I mean, if you see that your car battery has drianed, just leave it on for a day or so where I cleared most of the zeds. Once you come back, there might be few zeds that are easily dealt with, because they'd keep continually aggravated by the car. The battery will be charged, and wont drain again.
A few weeks in, I noticed that all heavy duty batteries drain to zero. The ones in store shelves, in pickups & vans, etc.
But the taxi I'm using is somehow staying green for a long time. Standard and sport batteries in the store shelves also stay at around 30% charge and not drop to zero. So for my temporary fix I avoid heavy cars, I don't know if it works for you.
There is a mod to fix most drainables bugs (search B42 drainables fix). Othter than that, you'll just have to wait.

To overcome this you need to leave the vehicle ON/idle while running around. This will recharge the battery fully to green. I do that and never have issues with battery draining fully. There are battery chargers to be found as well.

Carry a hose and gas cans with you to siphon gas out of cars as you run around looting. More organic way to keep your vehicle gassed up and not have to worry about it going empty leaving it idling.
the battery drain doesn't just happen to cars, it's happening to normal batteries too. Had a stack of batteries around to use in my flashlight, only to have all the batteries drained by the time I needed them. x'D
the condition of the vehicle matters in this battery draining thing - i got multiple cars right now and the two nice ones dont drain - i know its still a bug but its something to do with that- i think its supposed to happen over time and its happening when you go off screen instead - battery on store shelves and in vehicles would drain slowly irl - this is just a fact - the work around is actualy the battery charger - once you get one of those you dont need a mod (just take the battery off the charger before you turn the charger off - that too is bugged)

In the time it took you to post this, you could have already downloaded the mod to solve the issue.
