i have both hotwire and without key. all vehicle are out of battery. unless u keep engine running.
Leaving the key in isn't the problem.

The bug affects all batteries (car batteries and the smaller ones used in flashlights) and some other "fuel containers" like propane tanks. I have not seen it affect gas canisters though.

The bug reduces their level to 30%. I think it happens when saving a game, which could be when exiting the game or when part of the world save is updated during play (I think...)

i think it is related to world update, the vehicle that i parked in gasstation which is out of view range is fine. man, i'm going back to b41, this is too much issue for me. not even a slight possible for long run.
Brah this just happened to me now i had to talk to get a new car and gotten bitten RIP
It is an unstable branch...if you're not willing to adjust your expectations and provide constructive feedback rather than complaining there is always b41

Guess I need to move the base to a fossoil...
I think may be it's becouze you are not taking keys from lock?
a bag of sand/dirt and a clay mix bucket lose "charges" too =)
Taking the battery out and leaving it beside the car might help? Unsure.

Otherwise you can debug spawn a battery charger to get around it. Finding these bugs is the whole point of the unstable beta.
Since cars are so easy to steal, i like to just take the battery out and hide it when I'm not using it. Also has the side benefit of not ghost draining.

Thief might always have a screwdriver, but do they lug a spare car battery around too? probably not.

Didn't need my car before I got it, so its not like I ever really need it in a hurry. But it is handy for hauling stuff, and its a shame if it goes missing.

That belief became kinda popular, so nowadays many thieves actually lug a battery or two :)

It doesn't. I charged 4 batteries to full and dropped it on the floor. Next day they were drained to 40%.

Sounds like we just need to use debug mode to fix them until a proper fix goes live on unstable build then.
