Project Zomboid

Which Horde mod do you Use?
I've never used either horde mod (I think I've tried one before but can't remember). For the people that used both, which one has been a better experience?

Edit: I'll be using it in single player, so mp bugs don't matter.

I used to play with "Here they come" and did some testing with "Horde Night" before. SO take what I say as a quick summary.

Here They Come happens at set intervals with some variation. It will spawn zombies in Waves (that can increase) and will also lure all zombies existing and spawned towards your area. Also has a moodle type thing to notify you of the hordes arrival or exit. Has lots of settings.

Horde Night also happens at set intervals, lures zombies etc. But it doesn't spawn them in waves just all in one go (I think) and will get larger each horde night. Random horde nights can also happen throughout the week, without warning too. On the day of the horde, it will also pop a moodle up. this can be turned off.

They are both basically the same.. though I would recommend "here they come!" for a wave style game, and "Horde Night" for just chaos at certain and random moments.

i recommend this here

it basically spawns zeds, that get attracted to corpses and they spread out to eat them all.
so its much more organic interwoven than a regular spawn at regular intervals.

but if you prefer a more base-defense with waves, the other 2 mods are better.

Thanks, this helps clear things up. I'll likely end up giving them both a go, I'm thinking more like 5-10 zombies per horde but have one every night.

I've used this mod before but I never noticed if it spawned zeds, I've always assumed it was zombies already spawned. It's a good mod but I'm thinking more of a base defence.

Thanks for the recommendation:)

how was your experience? which one did you picked in the end? I am considering getting one of these two mods for my coop server

if you plan to use horde night, don't make base near ocean, sometime they won't spawn at all

Here they come was the better one imo. It works good and can be configured to your liking.

The mod doesn't spawn any new zeds.
The radius drawing more to your location just can grow to ridiculous proportions.
If you don't take care of the piles of bodies you can get the impression that the buggers are still spawning.
i play with the calm before the storm and set the time depending how fast i want a horde
