Played 2 hours so far, log is clean no framebuffer operations (I restarted game twice and started a new game 3-4 times to test it). I played on Legacy_41.60 beta.
correct, turn down to minimum, light-update sources (something like that its called), turn it down to 5 or 10. Turn down fog to the classic legacy fog, turn down reflections, turn off all the water puddle and also turn down the water quality. Flora sprites affected by wind also affects performance, you can also disable weather animations when you're inside buildings.
you can also lower game resolution to something like 1280x720 or 1360x768
You can play with double textures no problem, just avoid to zoom out too far, you can disable zoom above 200% as well. you can also turn off simple textures for weapons, players and zombies.
Tested this on a IntelHD3000 and the game was around 30-50fps for the most part, very playable, if you use Rivatuner you can also lock framerate to 30-31 and the game feels more consistent that way.
Also, no matter what you do, places infested with 300 zombies are going to be laggy no matter what, even on high-end computers so keep that in mind if you're trying to create a custom world with increased zombie spawns
