Fuel Stations.
Who campaigned to have them run out of fuel?
Is this true they now run out of fuel?

i thought that it wasnt that they ran out of fuel it was that the electricty goes out so you cant use the pump

The plan is to have them run out for future versions.

By default in future they will have limited fuel but this can be disabled via sandbox settings, stations will also normally if you're not unlucky have enough fuel still to fill 2000-4000 jerry cans worth (which is a lot).

Even back in the 90s fuel stations had at minimum 20k Gal US/75.7k L of each type, with newer stations having even greater capacity. RNG will determine what is left on each station, and I'm sure there will be the odd case of you getting boned on a random run. Should have the most impact on MP servers but as PZ is an incredibly configurable game, the sandbox/server options will probably have a toggle for this.

Taken from the changelog..

- Fuel stations no longer have unlimited fuel.
- Added sandbox option under World category "initial fuel station gas", ranging from "Empty" to "Full" with "Low/Very High" etc. in between

Plus probably infinite, and the already existing increasing / lowering fuel usage

This setting has probably been added for challenging starts and to add some more randomness

AFAIK devs already said in long term plans for future builds there's plans for lone NPCs, then bandits, factions, etc. as it gradually builds up with subsequent builds. So you'll have more competition for resources and more of a drain on important big ones like fuel. It'll be interesting to have your favourite spots cut off by a raider group or base, for instance and then having to watch as they drain it dry or squander resources. Each day you leave dealing with them you'll know cuts your supplies by many days by their use.

You'll also have to consider how big you want your group for the same reason. More mouths to feed.

If they will change it it might be possible to encounter a gas station thats already low on gas. / has no gas.

Why the concern? Have you actually survived long enough in 1 world where fuel shortage would be an issue or are you just upset because there's a change to something that you're used to?

It's not that I don't want change. It because a balance wpuld have to be introduced. Ex. In real live thrre is more than one petrol station in a single towm. In PZ this don't seems to be the case. The prospects of a new mini game of moving your mass accumulated toys to a new town every few months sounds daunting. If they introduce more fuel station then having to "up sticks" every now and then sounds less daunting, even if you have to drive to the middle of town everytime to fill your cans.

I don't know if I'm correct but the town I'm in I have found only one feul station.

Ok that is a good balance. A little more than even I would have expected

Fuel shortages are only a realistic issue for future builds when they bring in NPCs, raiders and NPC factions or if you're on MP and many people are dipping into that station for their own needs.

Actually no.
Petrol will last at least six months when stored at 20 degree or less.
If we want to be pedantic then that could easily be simulated.
