What's the worst wound your character has ever survived and how did you survive it?

broken left leg and right foot after jumping out a window to not get eaten. survived by hiding from the zombies in the trees and using houses, getting my way home, putting a splint on, treating myself to some mighty fine dining and resting. took a while but it healed

died a week later after getting a bite and having to shoot myself with a shotgun

Scratch on the neck, I was stucked in a room fighting the zed. Pushed the zed on the ground, stand top of it to prevent it moving, and banded myself. Left only around 1-2% of my health bar.
Had to constantly feed myself to burst before changed the band on first time.

CDDA start (deep wound with glass, horrible cold, drunk, wet in winter, house on fire) with more traits mod, started with additional injuries (including neck) and a broken leg. Slow healer.

Managed to survive a week until finally died due to hunger, did not manage to heal completely the leg in time to be able to loot with that insane zombie pop.

Just took my time and knew where to go, and how to lose zombies while walking incredibly slow, naked, and unarmed.

I could have survived if I had a can opener or herbalist though. I had incredibly bad luck with the places I looted on that run.

My character got lacerated in the neck while fighting a horde in Raven Creek after jumping out of a 2nd story window, he almost died because of bloodloss and I had to abort the mission.

At another time, using the "Expanded Helicopter Events" mod, my character got shot at twice by a hostile helicopter in Muldraugh while there were around 5 zombies close by. It was really tricky trying to get inside the hotel there avoiding getting shot, clearing a window of broken glass while dodging zombies and trying not to bleed out, but I survived.

my character got jumped by a gang of zombies that were hiding in a bathroom in downtown west point and i was not prepared so he got 2 lacerations on his neck (note that he had the anemic trait) and a scratch on his foot. not too soon after he got another scratch on his other foot when running over a fence.

a random ass tree decided it was perfectly okay to scratch my neck and make me bleed out in a minute flat, only noticed how bad it was after half my health was gone in 30 seconds and immediately panic shred my pants.

if our characters could develop phobias as we play? dude would be more frightened of trees then zombies at this point, this one incident ensured that i would always be wearing scarfs, even in summer.

terminal damage from being bitten / lacerated on every injury site possible.... had to take turns letting things sit in dirty bandages and get infected as changing them caused pain and blood loss so i couldn't change them all together.

got full to bursting and would clock out with pills repeatedly and slept to restore health enough to swap bandages. 3 days later all lacerations were scratches and I could care for them all daily.

Needless to say this was while I was learning the game with infection off :D


To think of the sweet summer child I was then thinking that was brutal....

Car crash and deep laceration in the chest, kept losing health and trying to and partly replenishing with food an lots of drugs over a game day and half. Down to terminal heath and found a medical kit in a wrecked car, sutured just in time.

One time I got a cut on my head from a car accident that was so bad I was bleeding to death. Like bandaging and what not didn't do squat. I don't remember exactly what I did other than continue to change the bandage over and over and I barely survived like with 1 hp left before it stopped going down. I seriously thought that was the end and I was mad because I had made years of progress on a self sustaining base away from zombies and I killed myself by not paying attention to my driving.

But I lived. Character has a big scar I bet.

Since they added different road scenes including parking / crashed cars every here and there, I'm driving more carefully on undiscovered roads. Happened many times I'm crashed into some cars after a turn, or driving to fast on a long straight road, and noticed too late the scene. So many good cars broken this way.
