how do you get a matress

i want to make a base in a small warehouse i found but i need to make a bed in there. only thing im missing is a matress. I figured youd get em by disassembling beds but when i do that all i get is wood planks and nails. other that physically transporting a bed somehow i cant seem to figure out how i get a matress.

You can craft those. It's under the carpentry tag iirc.

But its not really worth it imo. The sleeping quality for crafted beds is only average.

Or you can pick up sofas and use them as beds instead.

Disassembly will always render them into wood and nails. I think you meant the 'pick up' option.
