What is your favourite pistol and why?

The M9 pistol. Large magazine of 15 bullets, A short range of 7m but it's reasonable enough, and it's the second quietest pistol at 40 tiles, quietest is 30.

Downside is it's got the lowest damage of all pistols, so it's not great at just crazily killing zombies. But it's perfect for my use case- Knocking down isolated zombies and popping them in the head with full accuracy and a critical hit while they're immobile- Ideally with a silencer mod (none exist in vanilla faik, only from a mod). Or for killing zombies when low on endurance when it's dangerous to risk getting close or when tired where it takes way too long to kill due to the massive damage reduction being tired applies to melee attacks.


Really, Any gun is just WAY too loud in vanilla to ever use them for anything but attracting zombies, imo. You can pack up 300 rounds of shotgun shells and even if you somehow stood on the exact same tile and killed zombies in sets of 3 with 100% accuracy and guaranteed kills, you'll probably still run out of shells before you run out of zombies.
Like, This is the sound radius, ish, of the shotguns(Assuming the vanilla values have not changed since 2 years ago, anyway. I know there was a period where they artifically set the sound range really low due to a bug, but I also know it was raised back up since then- Just not sure if it was raised back to it's pre-bug value or not):

Is there a list of pistols and rifles and their details? How do you know of the range of your pistol?

Any pistol with a supressor, few extra mags and lots of ammo is my favorite pistol. I carry two pistols (with two holsters) and one melee weapon... asuming survived enought to collect and craft all necessary items.

Note: I have mods for hand-made silencers and holsters/vests though.

In real life, my S&W Model 10. In Project Zomboid. the in game equivalent .38 Special. It's a little less noisy than a 9mm so it draws smaller crowds and it can take out a lone zombie from far enough away that it can't bite me.

I have a few to choose from just been using the D-E pistol with 44 magnum rounds. It has quite the punch as zombies heads really kick back but only hold 8 bullets per mag
I have an M9 in my base think I will go back to that one

Ive been looking for the M16 rifle as I find magazines everywhere but no M16
I have found a few Mi4's and pretty pleased with it, but can I switch the firing mode to automatic or 3 bursts?

For pistols I like D-E and M1911.
For rifles, M14 because they are easy to find.
