How do you light up your house?
Is there anyway to stick candles up in your house for lighting, I just baracaded all the downstairs windows and now I can't see a thing, thanks.

No, after the power goes, if there a way to place candles or a torch up in your house for light

i know you can build a light pole (not sure if thats what its actually called) by crafting it from planks, rope and flashlight if i remember correctly

I built one in MP and tried putting every set of batteries we had, turning it on and off all that stuff, and it doesnt work :(

well dang maybe in a future version, we'll be granted the power of "lighting a candle and putting somewhere" technology.

You can build a light pole using a torch, some rope, wooden planks and nails. That being said, the lighting is a bit iffy from the few times I have bothered to build them. Some days they work wonderfully, other times the light seems to be stuck on a layer below ground.

Can you put them indoors?

I have before. You just need to remember to turn them off to save battery power

they eat batteries pretty fast too though... its almost not worth building them considering how often the batteries need changing. its nice to have them for like emergencies, but that's about it, i'll build a few around my property at key locations but i never turn them on unless i know i have the batteries to spare and REALLY need to do something at night. As far as indoor lighting goes, after the power is out, i usually end up building a perimeter wall and then taking the downstairs baricades off, maybe replacing a couple planks on each so the light can still get in in the daytime at least, and in some buildings have even built campfires inside when light was a nececity (though you gotta watch your step) honestly that ends up working pretty well, fully built they cast a lot of light, and one thing of the right fuel will last 4 game hours, compared to a lamp posts 2 hours of battery life.... Maybe still not the best idea but you make due with what you got, i suppose. I'm with you on the hope we eventually get to shove candles places, someday, or have legit fireplaces in some buildings, or hell even just that the batteries in those home-made lampposts will last more than a couple hours in some future build.

the only way a campfire will catch your house on fire even when built inside, by the way, is if you or a zombie step ON it, catch yourself on fire and then get it on the floor or walls when you panic and run around, so its actually totally safe as long as its enclosed in your home and you arent catching yourself on fire by standing in it.

A function for candles or similiar would be great, im all for atmosphere but it would be nice to have this feature - my first game i went looking for candles and was like "where are they".

Just make some Cmapfire into your house that works pretty well
I just use a flashlight in my off-hand, or a candle.

The light pole does work, although in multiplayer only the person who built it will benefit from its light. Additionally, you can remove the battery from it once drained, then place said battery into an empty flashlight and it magically becomes charged...

So you can basically carry around a magical battery charging flashlight and have unlimited light from lamp poles.

But overall, lighting needs some work. It gets pitch black at midnight, to the point that it actually seems to suck up light sources. Flashlights are absolutely useless indoors, as it often seems to just pass through walls rather than light them up. A candle is much more effective.

I think that if you build a wooden post + flashlight you can build a lightitng system
