Farming
I noticed that once i harvested my crop.. poof its gone, kinda sad since this means there is no way to continue farming after you used up all the seeds bags you find.
Also, in my opinion farming takes to long to do and should be faster.

Oh and what is up with tomatoes? I planted them, then it would not let me water them, then about two days later they turn into brown sticks...

I believe plants have 2 stages before they rot, Harvest-able and Seeding. The seeding stage comes after and at this point when you collect your food you also get some seeds back.

stage seven is seeding for brocoli cabbages and potatoes if you harvest at seed stage you have more than enough to continue farming i have a crate full of seed packets you get so many. tomatoes seed when ripe but take 20 in game days to grow cabbages grow fast but wait till they are in full bloom. potatoes take a while but are way faster than brocoli carrots and radishes need to be grown indoors otherwise they get too much water from rain

once you max out farming skill the info panel on plants tells you much more information about them including water levels and how long till next groing stage

Cabbages give you some seeds back, but its still not enough to make even. Eventually you run out, and then you will starve.
There should be a way to plant potatoes, seed from other crops to keep a farm going. I hope the devs are looking into this.

So, what plant is the most efficient in terms of time spent on growing it?

I have only loot half of west point, and i have enough seed packet to plant intensively for years... and not counting the seeds i got back from harvesting, and the winter... IMO, priority can be put somewhere else than balancing the ratio seed-harvest for now...

Hi guys! what does mean that "???" signs while checking info of any plants?
The tomatoes are too hard to click.

Confession:
I've never even once farmed in the game. :bleach:

I am fairly sure that this indicates that you need to read the skillbook "Farming for Beginners", though.

The higher skill you have, the more info gets available to you.
However, the only way to learn farming is when you are harvesting, so you must go through this phase.

I dont know if higher skill actually gives more yeald. If anyone knows this please share.

Higher farming skill increases starting crop health and therefore higher yield I belive. The higher the health when you harvest them, the higher yield you get.

Also as people say, wait until they are in their final stage, the"Seed-bearing" stage in order to get seeds back.

Extra tips, dont grow in large gardens, either have lots of single crops by themselves, or in groups of 4 (2x2). It takes more space but it means disease cant spread as easy.

Also ALWAYS ALWAYS use skill books. The mulipliers go

LVL1 - 3
LVL2 - 5
LVL3 - 8
LVL4 - 12
LVL5 - 16

If you have a skill book on level 1, you only need to harvest 1 crop to go up a level, and going from lvl2 to 3 is also incredibly easy. From there, use the info screens, make sure they are always watered to max(if you are doing potatoes/cabages) and watch for disease. If the look like they wont live through the disease, remove the patch before it can spread.
