Do generators attract zombies
I have yet to use a generator because I didn't want my base in the middle of Muldraugh to get attacked.

Yes, but barely. It's a small radius around it (20 tiles IIRC) that draw zombies, but it's like nothing in the end. It doesn't draw zombies like an alarm would do, so as long as you put it in a place far enough from zombie pathing around your base you are ok.
As far as im aware, they do if theres stray zombies nearby, but idk if it attracts hordes, i would recommend leveling up your carpentry to get some walls up around your base if you plan on having a generator.

Kind of, since they make sounds and whiles it isn’t massive it may still lure some in.

Granted if you’re living in middle of a city you’re likely to get zombies coming in regardless given the meta events and general migration.
They generate noise as far as they generate power. So 20 blocks in each direction. But build a small 1x1 room with no roof to put it in and the walls will muffle the sound. It will still attract zombies but from a much reduced range

I've tested that it will only muffle the sound for your speakers, so it will still attract zombies within the same 20 tiles radius.
