Combat is now worse overall
Muscle strain hits too hard, too fast, shouldn't even be introduced unless it takes 4+ in game hours to appear. If the goal is to push people to use firearms, the new aiming system is NOT helping with that at all. it is very unclear what I am actually pointing my gun at now on top of low skill ranks being even less accurate than they are in build 41. I shot 30 bullets at one zombie will standing still with the testing gun and proceeded to miss every shot and get bitten.

TLDR - Muscle Fatigue is terrible in the current state, old aiming system was much clear as to what is being aimed at.

I think its too much when you fight the usual amount in default apoc. It should start kicking in when you have to fight crowds of 10+ like you do in lategame.

Or have an option to turn it off.

Same, I like having it but it feels like it sets in too quickly.

weird, because I gave myself 100 traits points and just took everything to test it and still got strained after only a few zombies

Are you all using crowbars or something? As a dedicated short blade user, I barely saw muscle fatigue come up and I've cleared around 50 zombies out in the course of a couple days

people are just too used to playing Action Jackson, killing hundreds in the first day, and now they're whining that they have to edit sandbox settings to change it back to superhuman by default

shotguns are really bad
the minimum range is harsher on all weapons.
I got into WP police yard, got into the back room
got over 100 shells
had more kills with the Pistol.

Rough times, didn't die. but rough times.
Feels slower
i like the new items.
and all the new look is nice

the fire crackers are nice touch.
Reloading book.
you kno.
its nice
its nice

but

Something in me don't like the change

I managed around 25-30 kills with a baseball bat before it hit me. Had 5 strength, low metabolism, so idk. Seemed reasonable considering her lack of fitness.

I continued to fight on, even with the strain though I settled for pushing them down and stomping on them, which eventually fatigues you, but its a fall back when the hits start to be ineffective.

Not all people are so fragile as you are so that when they hit something with, let's say, a hammer, read hard, they'd have a muscle strain after just 3-5 hits.

There's a sandbox option for this feature already, though

I seriously doubt thats the case, unless you took so many negative traits as to hinder yourself. If my girl can manage 20-25 kills with a baseball bat, you're going to be able to swing and hit more with a lighter weapon like the hammer.

I personally do not like he new aiming system at all. It is very hard to know what your shooting at while moving. The muscle strain system, while I love the idea, I shouldn't be getting tired from swinging a hammer 5 times.

my thoughts exactly
aiming is like blind. im like blind. game lost its simplicity and yielded no advantage to the shooting style. it will get much more dislike than the original was i am sure

Hockey stick went well until it broke, but massive barbell led to muscle strain quickly (makes sense).

There's a sandbox setting where you can reduce strain or switch it off altogether.

I just took a guy from a spawn near to cortman in muldraugh and made my way to smokie's bar near the warehouse on day 1. Killed 75 zombies on the way with a burglar build.

what I learnt :
walk away when strain sets in.
have a rest and it goes just like being exhausted.
pushing and stamping has a little bit more value, B41 me would just smash everything to the ground. fighting in a slower, less intense way means you can fight for longer.

you can still take on mobs of 10+ but you just need to take a breather in between. Which isn't too hard if you pay attention to your surroundings.

I genuinely really like it. Stops you from just going out gun-ho killing everything. Eventually that made zombies almost a non-entity in their own game.

Only change i'd like to see with it is to not have it linked to weapon skills, but to fitness/str maybe even exercise regularity and weapon weight. Makes no sense swinging bats all day nps, only to switch to a knife and suddenly I'm blowing air.
