Personal preference is that they delay their own update for a month or two. I agree with @morry; I feel that all of us need time to get our hands dirty and to really explore on our own.
but yes - i assume the map site has every tile - every detail
no doubt it will be along soon :-)
After testing around in some of the old parts of the map, I started what was going to be my first long game of B42. It didn't last long! Amelia was visiting family in Echo Creek (the new starting town) when everything hit the fan. Sadly, all her family is gone now and seems to just be undead in the town. So it was time to pack up and leave. Gathered what little she could find and set out. Using just the paper map from the starting screen that someone posted on Reddit, I had a vague idea of how to go. So off I went. I was out of town, no other houses in site and it was starting to get late. I find a dirt road with a mail box and had to decide, keep following the path I set out that would eventually take me the old Ekron (not sure what the devs call now.. they used to call it Lickskillet but I think they changed it) or follow this new path and hope for a house at the end. I just didn't know what to do! I started the path, then changed my mind and went back to the road, then changed my mind again because I didn't know if I'd find another place to rest for the night. My endurance was low, I had some pain from muscle strain (love this new addition, by the way), and I really needed a smoke. Plus, I was getting hungry and only had a bit of candy I found at the gas station. I did find a house! But there were dead inside, she tried to take them on and claim the house for the night, but then her endurance got really low, she could barely move and then her bat broke! She fought off the dead for as long as she could until the bat was completely gone (I LOVE this!) and she got overwhelmed by the last couple of zeds (that she knew of, could have been more, I don't know).
It's like playing PZ for the first time again, so much fun!
I treat the map in this way - Ive lived in the area for years before the Knox event. I wasnt suddenly parachuted in. I therefore would already know the area very well, especially if i was a cop or some role like that.
It would be odd to live in an area you have lived in for years and then suddenly have to explore it again, like airports or lakes etc. Im guessing we would already know that.
But i totally get the appeal of just going in blind and having a full explore. Thats exciting too.

As Cuckoo stated. I posted it a few days ago. Just follow the links. Cheers.
I've lost count of the number of times the solution to an opinion about B42 is sandbox settings. This is just the same, as and when the project is updated surely its a matter of whether you choose to look at it or not?
That said, i'm not planning on looking at any map update anytime soon, I'm quite enjoying wandering down roads not quite knowing what I'm going to find.
