PZ not working
Ok, so when I use to play PZ a little while ago (couple months now) everything worked fine. Didn't have any dramas what so ever when trying to launch the game. Now, when I launch the game either through the steam library or from the desktop the command prompt opens for a fraction of a second then closes straight away. Steam briefly says that I am online playing PZ but only for a few seconds. I have tried uninstalling PZ and redownloading and installing but to no avail.

Really wanna play PZ again, but understandably frustrated as I was unable to find any solutions (granted it was no an extensive search).

Please help. =D

First thing would be to find the PZ folder in steam, and try the 64 bit or 32 exe (I'm not really sure how to help but something to try none the less)

I've tried both the 64 bit and 32 bit exe and the same thing happens for both sadly. Thanks though.

Go to the installation directory of the game by right clicking Project Zomboid in your Steam library and hitting "Properties". Then go to the "Local Files" tab and press the "Browse local Files" button.

From here, double click the ProjectZomboid32.bat file (blueish gears as an icon).
If the game crashes again, grab a screenshot of the command prompt and upload it to a site like imgur.com, linking it here in order to tell us what's wrong.

I followed those instructions to the letter.

- Opened ProjectZomboid32.bat file
- Ran the game
- Game failed to load past the fraction of a second worth of command prompt
- ProjectZomboid32.bat file details unchanged

So either something is seriously wrong, or I'm running the wrong file.

Have you played Minecraft before by any chance and fiddled with your java options?

Game closed, go to the Windows Start menu and in the "Search programs and files" field enter "Edit the system environment variables" and click it. Then click the "Environment Variables" button in the window that pops up and delete the "JAVA_OPTIONS" entry.

Now start the game. Should boot up fine.

I am aware that Minecraft and Zomboid are both java heavy games, but how do the two keep messing with each other like this?
