Helicopter/Plane event generation overkill
Just a few hours ago, a friend and I both got killed by approx 15 helicopters or planes passing by over the Picnic Area causing a horde of easily a few hundred thousand zombies to pass by, murdering the server and us.

There was no point in our defenses, the zombies smashed through metal doors in seconds. The events would occur end-to-end or even overlapping each other. One or two is ok, it's a good challenge, but over 5? That's a bit much. Over 10? Ok somethings wrong. Over 15?! It's time to take a break from this game. Over 20 hours worth of real life time spent fortifying and collecting only to get overrun in seconds and wiped out. Not exactly fun. The zombie setting was only set to normal as well, there should never have been so many zombies.

Well it only last for the few first week for me.Otherwise it never happened so often to me.
Maybe the game spotted you guys doing nothing in this area for few day and it decide to send a bunch of ''entertainement'' :D.

I dunno, it was right on top of our safehouse. Kind of defeated the purpose of building a safe house when the game just dumps a mega horde on top of it like that.

build them above ground then silly.

That wouldn't help with killing the server would it?

You can build on the second floor, destory the stair case and use a rope ladder to get up and down. Pretty completely safe from zombies until you have to leave.

One time me and my friend were held up in the warehouse at the top left of mauldraugh as out base. Then the choppers came and hundreds of zombies overran us... Maybe if I didn't go outside to clear that "small horde" I saw we would have been ok? XD

You're fundamentally misunderstanding the problem. Even if they didn't kill him as he's up safe the server would grind to a halt under the weight of dealing with so many zombies on screen and involved at once. Being on the second floor doesn't help that.

I'm probably going to come off as a ♥♥♥♥, buuuuuuuuut:

The helicopter event is one big event, something around 20 helicopters or so. It represents an aerial evacuation; a likely thing to happen in the event of a zombie disaster (heads of government and such would be the first to get choppered to an airstrip and onto a jet). Sometimes it bugs out and will happen twice in a week. Not as likely, but still plasusible. Sometimes it bugs out and happens back to back. Video games make mistakes sometimes, too. If it continues to happen I'm sure the devs will look over the script again and fine tune it.

Secondly, and maybe most importantly, if your entire plan revolved around one base than you were doomed to fail sooner or later. Secondary fortified positions are just as important as a primary one. If you'd lightly barricaded a nice, out of the way home a few blocks from your main fort you'd have somewhere to get yourself together and formulate a plan of action. Losing a fort is part of the game; so is either moving on or getting it back. Refusing to budge isn't smart.

There never should have been so many zombies? How can you say that when this is a game that literally gives you almost complete control of the zombie population and how they behave? It sucks that you lost all that time invested in the fort, but the game is far from over. I get why you're mad, honestly...but you can't pin the zombie population numbers on anyone else. Get your butt together and go take it back OR just copy the map onto a new server with an adjusted zombie count.

Also, eat cake. You'll feel better.

"Once more into the fray. Into the last good fight I'll ever know. Live and die on this day. Live and die on this day." (that's is another good quote for this game after THIS IS HOW YOU DIE) :D

Ya, the Chain aircraft ruined a couple of my games, I'm fine with it being a random event here or there. It's unfair and not fun when it spams the event.

Now, continue missing the point everyone and trying to say how good you are at the game.

Sounds awesome, I would probably be applauding not complaining.

If a game forces me to cut my losses, me & my friends to scatter in a panicked run, 2 of them get their faces eaten right away while I manage to break through and die about 6 hours later huddled in a stairwell desperately hoping the zombies don't hear me ....

Well played, sir, I say .. well played indeed.

Do we want a "balanced" zombie apocalypse game ?

Do we want to mindlessly click, gain a level, click some more, gain more levels, always being about 10% stronger than any particular threat in the universe around us ? That's MMO thinkin', people !
